Privacy Policy

BAC Levels ("we," "our," "the site") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, what we don't, and how we handle the data we do collect.

The Short Version

All BAC calculations happen in your browser. We never see, collect, store, or transmit your BAC results, the drinks you enter, your weight, your gender, or any other health-related input. Period.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Your BAC calculation results
• Drinks, volumes, or ABV values you enter
• Your weight, gender, or body composition
• When you plan to drive or your sobriety timeline
• Any personal health or medical information

Your profile preferences (weight, gender, measurement unit) are saved exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Data We Do Collect

We use two third-party analytics services to understand how the site is used:

Google Analytics 4

Collects anonymous usage data: pages visited, session duration, device type, browser, approximate geographic location (country/region level), and traffic source (how you found us). Google Analytics does not have access to any BAC-related inputs or results.

Microsoft Clarity

Records anonymous session replays and heatmaps to help us understand how people interact with the site — where they click, how far they scroll, and where they get stuck. Clarity automatically masks text input fields, so any values you type into the calculator are not captured in recordings.

Cookies & Local Storage

Local storage (not cookies): We use browser localStorage for two purposes only:

• bac_profile — your saved preferences (weight, gender, unit). Never transmitted.
• cookie_consent — whether you accepted or declined analytics.

Third-party cookies: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may set their own cookies for analytics purposes. These are standard analytics cookies that do not contain health data.

Data Retention

We do not store any personal data on our servers. Analytics data is retained according to Google's and Microsoft's default retention policies (typically 14-26 months for aggregated data).

Third-Party Services

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp). See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Google may log font requests. See Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

Children's Privacy

This site is not intended for use by anyone under the legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to request deletion of. If you want to clear your locally stored preferences, open your browser's developer tools and clear localStorage for baclevels.com, or simply clear your browser data.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
